The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (“UWSP”),
a comprehensive public university within the University of
Wisconsin System, was founded in 1894. It offers a wide range
of academic programs to over 8,700 students, including foreign
students from 30+ countries and areas.
UWSP is located near the geographical center
of the state, along the banks of the scenic Wisconsin River.
Stevens Point enjoys unsophisticated local customs and a beautiful
environment, and it ranked as one of the “Top 100 Places to

According to the American Higher Education
Accreditation System, UWSP is accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), which is an accrediting
organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education
Accreditation (CHEA). In addition, UWSP is also accredited
by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China

UWSP is consistently ranked as one of the top
10 comprehensive public universities in the Midwest, according
to U.S. News & World Report. (UWSP was ranked sixth in
the 2003 and 2006 rankings, and ranked seventh in the 2004
and 2005 rankings).
